This book attempts to study the role of television in social change in India, with special reference to rural Meghalaya. Analysing the role of television as a medium of information, it examines its relationship with social development, culture changes, growth of education and economic condition.

Author Bio: Mary Harriet belongs to the Congregation of the Sister of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM). She is an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and Ph.D. in Mass Media. She also possesses an M.Ed. Degree, Diploma in Counselling, and Teachers Training Certificate for Higher Grade. Dr. Sr. Mary Harriet has been teaching for 33 years from primary to post graduation levels. She is an assistant prof. in St. Anthony s College, Shillong, Meghalaya NAAC-Reaccredited the Institution with Grade A She has been participating and conducting various workshops and seminars to the teachers. She has the distinction of producing two documentary films on the mission of her Province. She has been invited to several meetings and programmes on media studies, youth, society, etc.
