Pranaam means I bow to you. This pocket-sized book is a selection of 108 Love-Poems written to the Divine Mother. They strum a universal chord in the human heart's yearning to know the Divine, giving an indication of the ideals and Love that Holy Mother Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi) both inspires contemplation of, and represents. These poems were written between 1999-2002, by an American family living in Amma's Ashram in Amritapuri, Kerala, India.

K.A.L. stands for the family behind Wise Earth Publishers. 'K' for Kamala, 'A' for Amma and Anni (1988 2007), who is also the illustrator, and 'L' for Linkesh. In 2002, Amma advised the K.A.L. family to choose some of the poems and make a book of them. Amma herself chose the cover in August, 2009, which includes a photograph taken by Janjaap of the Netherlands in 2002 of Amma's nuns and Amritapuri residents at an ashram festival gathering. These poems bring to the world new and powerful voices in the soul's cry to know itself, as well as ply a depth of deep human emotions as well as joys that are not often revealed in mundane life.

Author Bio:

P.K. Willey, who prefers to be known as Aunty Kamala, grew up in both the United States and India, and earned a Ph. D. in Philosophy of Education from the University of Connecticut for her in-depth inquiry into Gandhi's ecological outlook. Influenced by his ideals, and the example, teachings and life, of Holy Mother Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi), Aunty Kamala's current projects deal with ethical inquiry and creating awareness of the ethical crisis our planet faces. She works to nurture awareness of our ethical instincts for children, family, human society, as well as our duty and responsibilities to all members and parts of the natural Creation. Aunty Kamala continues to dive into the subject of Earth Ethics, writing articles which both supplement and further understanding of the ideals expressed in this book at EarthEthics.org.in as well as for other publications and magazines.
