Daska is a civil servant presently serving in a senior management position in the Indian Railways. Born in 1952, his childhood was spent in the bustle of a large family where reading books was not just a pastime but a passion. After majoring in English from the University of Delhi in 1972, he taught there at various colleges. In 1976, the author joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service and is presently serving in the organisation.
