The novel The great expectations; was written in I860 and until now it has been periodically reedited in many languages and countries. The story is that of a boy whose life is changing over the night and he is therefore forced to adapt by himself, because his family isn't capable of offering him any help or support. Pip is a orphan and his sister and brother-in-law (Joe and Joseph Gargery) are taking care of him. Besides the fact that they all live in poverty, Pip is often beaten sometimes with no reason by his sister. One night, while taking a walk through the swamp. Pip is caught by an escaped prisoner who asks him for food and for complete discretion. Else, the prisoner said, he ll hill him. Frightened, the child obeys and brings food to the prisoner. and also tries to protect him and help him to leave the area safely. However, he is traumatized after meeting this man and begins having frequent nightmares with him. After a while. Pip is invited to be the dialing partner of Miss Havishain, a local widow. For this service he is to receive a little money, so he accepts....
