Oxford University Press is the world's largest university press, publishing more than 4,500 new books a year; it has a presence in more than fifty countries and employs some 3,700 people worldwide. OUP in India is an integral part of the Press's worldwide organization. Like OUP internationally, it propagates the liberal objectives of the University to further education and learning through publications that reflect the specific needs of the country that it serves. History OUP India was established in 1912 in Bombay (now Mumbai). After Mumbai, offices were established at Chennai and Kolkata, and an office at Delhi was opened in 1972. With the opening of the Delhi office, the headquarters of OUP India shifted from Mumbai to Delhi. Publishing OUP India's publishing operations currently fall into three distinct areas: academic, general and reference, higher education, and school education. Its academic list, in the humanities and social sciences, is widely acknowledged to be the most distinguished in the world on subjects relating to South Asia. Its growing reference publishing in India is considered a pioneering effort in this exclusive field. Recently, OUP India has embarked on an ambitious higher education programme aimed at meeting the requirements of Indian college and university students with special focus on the disciplines of engineering, computer science and management. OUP India has a well-established educational publishing programme to cater to the key curriculum requirements of Indian schools from the pre-primary to the higher secondary level. It is acknowledged as a foremost English Language Teaching (ELT) publisher in the country. OUP India also has a rapidly growing list of texts in the humanities and social sciences as also in science and mathematics. OUP India also publishes atlases and bilingual dictionaries in various Indian languages. Across the entire spectrum of OUP publishing in India, there is a specific regional component, fulfilling the vision of the Delegates of the Press, and serving the needs of the region's academic and educational community as their major university press. Operations As one of the largest publishers in India, OUP has four regional sales offices at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata with independent warehouses and showrooms in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Pune, Lucknow, Patna, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Ernakulam, Chandigarh and Jaipur. These showrooms cater to the growing requirements of academics, school, college and university students, professional and research institutions, as also general readers. OUP India has established a modern all-India Central Warehouse at NOIDA, near Delhi, which is spread over 25,000 sq. ft. Its business is supported by SAP with on-line connectivity with all offices and warehouses in India.

DK Printworld

An ambitiously programmed venture of specialized publishing in Indic/Indological Studies, D.K. Printworld was set up in 1992 by a dynamic personality who, for well over twenty-five years, has not only been in the thick of book business, but has come to have strong perceptions of the publishing trends worldwide. Its co-founder is his son,a young entrepreneur, with drive and passion for excellence. Together with a fairly large team of professionals and highly experienced personnel, who are ever alive to the latest developments on the publishing scenario, we today in a span of a little over ten years count among the leading publishers of Indological works in India, with a nearly worldwide recognition for our uncompromising standards.

D.K. Printworld: the Publishers Over these few years, we have brought out hundreds of research-oriented titles by authors/institutions of national and international repute. Already, we are running ten series on key areas of Indology/Indic Studies which, in terms of their coverage, embrace diverse subjects relevant to Indian archaeology, history, arts (including fine arts, performing arts), religion, philosophy, literary classics, linguistics, Islamic heritage, Buddhist and Jaina studies, and the like. We, as ever before, welcome authors with manuscript details.

D.K. Printworld: the Printers With the state-of-the-art skills, infrastructure, and technology at our command, we are not confined to publishing business alone, but are also carrying out both cost-effective and time-bound printing jobs of 'international standards': in both single and multicolours. We, (May we say?), already have a number of eminent corporate houses on a long list of our customers. Should you, therefore, ever care to entrust us with some assignment, please send inquiries with details of the material/product to be printed.
